Tahlequah Vipers

The Tahlequah Vipers are a second-year team in the 4SFL right in the heart of the Cherokee Nation.

The Vipers play at one of the nicer facilities in the league. Tahlequah gets to play their home games at Doc Wadley Stadium, home of the Northeastern State RiverHawks, a great venue to catch a Vipers game!

The Vipers’ first season was rocky, to say the least. With a 2-4 record, Tahlequah finished best of the first-year teams in sixth. It was apparent the gap between the first-year teams and the rest of the established teams in the 4SFL, but Tahlequah was able to have their moment as an underdog. In the first round of the playoffs, the Vipers were able to pull off the upset of the third-seeded Joplin Crusaders, 32-22 after losing to them in the regular season, 34-20.

The second-year will be the real test for the Vipers. Tahlequah has made improvements over the offseason to try and bridge the gap from cellar dweller to fighting in the mid-pack among teams like the Skyhawks and Monstars. Keep an eye on this team to see what improvements they have made!
